Name of Business
Rock & Rose Jewellery
Who are you?
I am a jeweller and the creative behind Rock & Rose Jewellery. I live in Cheshire with my lovely husband and our little border terrier, Boba. I've always loved shiny things and was probably a magpie in a previous life!
What sets you apart from the competition?
Dedicated to pushing the boundaries of traditional jewellery design, I combine the elegance of silver and copper with the alluring mystery of the unknown. I create delicate jewellery with an edge that is not only beautiful but also meaningful.
How did the business come about?
Born from a struggle to find gothic jewellery in mainstream shops, Rock & Rose started in 2021 from a desire to make gorgeously gothic and alternative jewellery that others love as much as I do. Influenced by history and mystery, I want to help my customers embrace and express their passion for the weird and wonderful.
What are your main target markets?
Goths, rockers and alternatives mainly but I'm also open to commissions.
How long has your business been in existence?
I started making jewellery in 2018 however the business came about officially in April 2021.
How many staff do you employ?
I'm a sole trader but my husband helps me at craft fairs - he's called a ''Croadie' (craft roadie!)
What job or achievement makes you most proud?
That I can run a small business alongside a 4 day a week job and still have time to sleep!
Where do you see the business being in five years?
I have no idea but hopefully bigger and better!
Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc)
I go caving! I am fascinated by copper and there are copper mines in Alderley Edge, so I joined Derbyshire Caving Club and go caving there and over the NW.
Fantasy dinner party – which six people alive or dead would you invite?
Brendan Fraser, Nathan Fillion, Amy Bruni, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Lucy Worsley, Dr Kate Cherell.
