- Name of Business – Pendergast’s Steakhouse & Bar
- Who are you? Laura Harvey (ops Director) / Stevie Shepperson (Manager) – both shareholders in the business.
- What sets you apart from the competition? Our level of quality in both food and service. We use local produce where possible and support local suppliers by using products in our menu and selling them for takeaway in our deli. We also have an extensive wine list that has already won us a place on The White Star Wine List.
- How did the business come about? Laura was introduced to Steve Pendergast by their accountant (as they both shared the same accountant). Both Laura and Steve had a vision to create a modern steakhouse with a feminine focus, so they teamed up on the project. Laura used to work with Stevie and was keen to get her onboard. Craig Kirk, the head chef, is also a shareholder in the business, so it’s a real team effort.
- What are your main target markets? Business events, females and couples aged 35 plus.
- How long has your business been in existence? Pendergast's opened in September 2023

- Where do you see the business being in five years? We would like to grow the business and have multiple venues to support local businesses in as many areas within the North West as possible and watch our amazing team have the opportunities to progress and grow.
- Tell us one interesting thing about the business that might surprise us? We have a sommelier on hand to ensure the perfect wine and dining experience.
- Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc) – We have an amazing private dining room that is available to hire at no extra charge!
