The Right to Disconnect
Labour plans to introduce a right for employees to ‘switch off’ from work, aiming to address issues of overwork and promote a healthier work-life balance.
- Expected Benefits: improved mental health and well-being for employees; and reduced burnout and increased productivity.
- Potential Challenges: implementation in industries where continuous availability is expected; and ensuring consistent application across different job roles.
Implementation
Employers will need to establishing guidelines for reasonable working hours.
Menopause Action Plans
Large businesses with at least 250 employees will have to produce a ‘menopause action plan’. The plan would need to demonstrate how the business supports employees going through menopause.
Labour will also develop guidance and the factors employers should consider when supporting employees going through menopause.
